What a wonderful exhibition of every day life in Charters. So pleasently surprised in the huge amount on display.Great guide to talk thruvall pointing out the highlights.Stuff from my past and my grandparents - nostalgicWell done to all the dedicated volunteers.

Not a glamorous city museum. A bit like being let loose in grandad's back shed....lots of things to see, reminisce & wonder over.

Wonderful experience. Great staff. Packed with social history. We are visitors from the UK and this was an unexpected highlight amongst many others.

Interesting museum full of exhibits from a bygone era of Charters Towers. Friendly volunteer staff are very helpful and keen to show you around. No cafe here, but there is a toilet. Allow a couple of hours plus to have a good look around.

Lots of local historical objects plus many other antiquities and curios. So many different things to admire and enjoy. You could quite easily get lost in this treasure trove for hours. I spent an hour there and it wasn't nearly enough time to absorb all of the history and wonder in one building. The caretakers of the museum were wonderful to talk with and were very open when presented with up to date information on the pieces they had on display. For a small town museum it is truly spectacular. I will have to return in the near future to spend more time perusing. The admission fees are more than worth it and very reasonable indeed! Concession and pensioner discounts available.
